Helicoid bought me an Asus Eee PC. This thing is close to genius. You can see the size compared to my other laptops below. It has no hard disks, so nothing to make it heavy or need shock protection. The screen is a bit on the small side, but it does have speakers and a webcam in the lid too. A 4GB SSD drive replaces the hard disk, big enough for Windows plus a bit more (I actually installed Windows Media Center... it's all I have anyway).
It has an SD card slot for adding more storage for other programs, I'm making some use of it already. Hopefully I'll get to add the eGate and VPN software I need for work, then I'm ultraportable, for both work and Helicoid too. Would like to get serious about helping out Alex this year, just need to think about what more I can do.
